Ingredients -2cups chana dal
¼ cup grated potatoes,
½ cup roasted chana powder
2 tsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
4 tsp Standard Garam Masala powder
2tsp ginger-garlic and chilli paste
1 tsp Mace powder, pinch of nutmeg powder,
1/2 cup Fried Onion paste, 1/2 cup Poppy seed paste
Salt and chili powder to taste
oil as required
serve with mixed sauce and salad and lachha onion .
Method – Clean, wash and boil the channa dal in 2 cups of water until the dal is soft and cooked and all the water has evaporated. Combine the cooked dal with the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Divide the mixture into 10-12 equal portions. Using a thick seekh (metal /wooden skewer/), press each portion of the dal mixture on it using your fingers to make kebab. Brush each kebab with oil.Heat oil in a pan and cook kebabs until both sides are brown.
Serve hot with mixed sauce and salad .
These kebabs can also be cooked on charcoal or an electric barbecue.
If using wooden skewer, soak them in water for at least 2 hours. This will not burn the skewers.
