Vada manchurian


1.Urad dal(uzhunnu parippu) – 1 cup
2.Moong dal(cherupayar parippu) – 1 cup
3.Onion(chopped) –1
4.Green Chilly(chopped) – 4
5.Ginger-garlic paste – 2tsp
6.Curry leaves(chopped) – 1 tbsp
7.Corn flour – 3tbsp
8.Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp
9.Tomato Sauce – 1 tbsp
10.Chilly sauce – 1 tbsp
11.Capsicum (cut into cubes) –1
12.Tomato(cut into Cubes) – 1
13.Onion(cut into cubes) –1
14.Sugar – 1tsp
16.Oil – for frying
17.Coriander leaves – to garnish


1.Soak urad dal and moong dal for Grind urad dal and moong daal into a coarse paste.
2.In a bowl,combine chopped onion,ginger garlic paste, green chilly ,salt with daal mix .
3.Make balls out of the mix.wet your hands with little oil and flatten the balls using your palms.
4.Heat oil in a pan and fry vadas till light brown as shown in pic above.
5.Heat oil in another pan. saute chopped onions,capsicum and tomato cubes(remove the seeds of tomato before adding it).
6.Once the veggies are half cooked, add soy sauce,tomato sauce,corn flour (mixed with water) to it.
7.stir well and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.Finally add fried vadas & sugar to it and mix well.
8.Remove from fire.
9.Garnish with coriander leaves
10.Serve with rice or roti
